by Kim

As you may have heard, we are beating the winter blues with a room makeover contest with HGTV Design Star Emily Henderson (and if you haven’t, you definitely want to check it out!).  To get the inspirational juices flowing, we wanted to share the latest Fall color trends – definitely a mood-boosting palete,

Emerald

Emerald is Pantone’s color of the year. And we can see why. It is elegant yet outdoorsy. Bright yet warm. Exciting yet soothing.  Emerald is a wonderful mix of contradictions that will make staying in bed feel like an adventure.

ACAI

Wall colors are not the only way to bring Pantone’s Fall fashion trends into your bedroom. Accessories such as curtains, cushions and blankets can help to create a place of rest and relaxation. Acai is one of the most luxurious colors in this palette – perfect for accents. Add difused natural light with Pirouette or Silhouette sheer shades, and you can say goodbye to dark days of winter!

Carafe

With winter comes hot drinks. The name of this deep, wonderful brown could not be more appropriate for the season of chilly nights. Whether you prefer a latte or a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows, this deep, earthy color will make sure you stay warm.

Koi

Koi is a rich, bold color with a shimmery quality to it.  It’s a warm, energizing color, but can overpower a room if not used carefully.  Consider using as accents, or pair with a more neutral palette.

Vivacious

For those of us who really want to throw off the dreariness of winter, there is only one way to go. Vivacious is a stunning new pink that thrills and tickles. It’s great for adding a sense of fun and playfulness to your room.
