Heritance® hardwood shutters
This is the time of year when retail stores and catalogs are filled with beach décor, and it makes this gal (me!) who grew up on a Southern California beach and ended up in a Portland suburb long for a beach house!
But you don’t need a beach house to have a beachy look. Beach Chic is currently a very popular style, which I personally love. It suits a casual lifestyle and features design elements such as bare floors with area rugs, painted furniture and slipcovers. It incorporates a color palette of my favorites: blue, aqua, coral, yellow and sand with loads of white.

Pottery Barn is a great resource for a beach casual look with their shell motif linens, natural jute rugs, baskets, and slip covered couches. I also love combing through the pages of Coastal Living magazine when I feel the urge to “get beachy”.
Vignette® Modern Roman Shades
At the window I love the soft folds of the Vignette® Modern Roman Shades in a casual linen fabric or white Heritance® hardwood shutters to beautifully filter sunlight into a room and complete the look. The best part? Landlubbers can enjoy this look too!
