During your in-home design consultation, one important question our designer will ask is how you wish to operate your window treatments. Now you may be thinking – “that’s a silly question, you just pull the cord or tilt the wand.” But there are actually many more options beyond basic, corded functionality when you choose a custom-made solution over ready-made.
What are the benefits of cordless blind and shades?
While ease of operation may be the biggest selling point for a cordless lift system, but no operating cords also means a clean, uncluttered look at the window. Dangling strings can not only detract from the beauty of a shade, but they can also pose a major risk to small children and pets, making cordless lift systems the safest choice for homes with furry friends and little ones.
How do cordless window treatments work?
With cordless window treatments, all the strings and mechanisms that raise and lower your blinds or shades are designed to live inside the window treatment. Innovative interior holds allow the window covering to stay securely in any position—eliminating the need to constantly adjust window treatments and ensuring continuously smooth operation.
One caveat with cordless blinds is the tilt wand. While cordless window shadings can be tilted by simply adjusting the bottom rail, cordless blinds will still feature a thin dangling tilt wand.
What are the best cordless window treatment styles?
All Hunter Douglas blinds, cellular shades, roller shades, screen shades, woven shades, Roman shades, and window shadings can be made cordless for easy operation. Interior shutters are also inherently cordless and are a great alternative to blinds and shades, especially in homes with a more traditional decorating style.
What cordless lift systems does Hunter Douglas offer?
Available on Hunter Douglas blinds, the cordless SimpleLift™ system allows homeowners to effortlessly raise and lower window treatments by simply pushing a button on the bottom rail. Your blinds stay exactly where you placed them within the window.
The innovative LiteRise® lift system makes raising and lowering blinds and shades easier than ever. Simply push up on the bottom rail to raise or pull down to lower. Your window treatments will stay exactly where you placed them.
